Antidiuretic hormone (ADH) is a hormone released from the pituitary gland that is also known as the master gland. This hormone is synthesized in the hypothalamus and stored in the posterior pituitary. It has a major role to play in the composition of urine. If ADH release is increased this leads to increase in reabsorption of water hence leading to less volume of urine which is concentrated in composition. However when ADH release is decreased the reabsorption of water is decreased which leads to more volume of dilute urine.
