Tips for Memorizing Multiplication Table of 16

There are no rules for easy learning, but here are a few tips that would help memorize. Give them all a read and get ready to understand and learn 16 times table quickly:

  • The result of the 16 times table is always even numbers.
  • The product of even multipliers of 16 times table has the same digit at the unit place. For example

6 x 2 = 32
6 x 4 = 64
6 x 6 = 96
6 x 8 = 128
and so on.

  • 6, 2, 8, 4, 0 is the repeated pattern of 16 times table. Observe that in the table of 16, this pattern repeats itself after every five multiples of 16.
  • Another way of learning and memorizing the 16 times table is by recalling the table of 8. To find the results of the 16 times table, simply skip the odd digit multipliers of 8, such as,

8 x 2 = 16
8 x 4 = 32
8 x 6 = 48
8 x 8 = 64
8 x 10 = 80
8 x 12 = 96
8 x 14 = 112
8 x 16 = 128
8 x 18 = 144
8 x 20 = 160

Here we got the results of the 16 times table up to its 10 multipliers which are 16, 32, 48, 64, 80, 96, 112, 128, 144, and 160.

Example Question of Table of 16

Question: Ginny bought 8 cups of coffee for her eight friends. One coffee costs $16. Find the cost of 8 coffees?

Solution:

Given that,
Total cups of coffee: 8
Cost of 1 cup of coffee: $16
Using the table of 16,
⇒ 8 x 16 = 128
Hence, the cost of 8 cups of coffee is $128.

Question: Using the table of 16, what is 16 multiplied by 9?

Solution:

Given that,
16 multiplied by 9
In the mathematical form, it is written as,
⇒ 16 x 9 = 144
Thus, 16 multiplied by 9 is 144.

Question: Find the sum of 16 times 5 and 16 times 10?

Solution:

Given that,
16 times 5 and 16 times 10
= 16 x 5 and 16 x 10
= 80 and 160
Sum of 80 and 160 = 240
Hence, the sum of 16 times 5 and 16 times 10 is 240.

Question: How do we get the 16 times table using the repeated addition method?

Answer:

We repeatedly add 16 to itself to get the results of the multiplication table of 16. For example,
16 + 16 = 32
16 + 16 + 16 = 48
16 + 16 + 16 + 16 = 64
16 + 16 + 16 + 16 + 16 = 80
16 + 16 + 16 + 16 + 16 + 16 = 96
16 + 16 + 16 + 16 + 16 + 16 + 16 = 112
16 + 16 + 16 + 16 + 16 + 16 + 16 + 16 = 128
16 + 16 + 16 + 16 + 16 + 16 + 16 + 16 + 16 = 144
16 + 16 + 16 + 16 + 16 + 16 + 16 + 16 + 16 + 16 = 160

Question: Find the value of 16 times 2 minus 16 plus 3? Use a multiplication table of 16 to evaluate.

Solution:

Given that,
16 times 2 minus 16 plus 3
In mathematical form,
= 16 x 2 – 16 + 3
= 32 – 13
= 19
Hence, the value of 16 times 2 minus 16 plus 3 is 19.
