For the past five years, I have worked as a dedicated home tutor, During this time, My expertise lies in English language and literature, including grammar, writing, reading ,Comprehension and literary analysis. As a PhD scholar in English literature, I have taught as a visiting lecturer at a university level and provided private tuition to students. I believe in teaching in a manner that catalyzes students' creative abilities. I am particularly interested in understanding the students' psyche to know which teaching method suits them. One of my students, who is now pursuing a master's degree in linguistics, reflected on her experience that she understood the art of understanding literary texts from me.
I think that traditional classroom teaching fails to encompass the diversity in students' learning abilities. My tutoring approach is to prioritize empathy and understanding in teaching centered around highlighting students' unique individual abilities. I do not believe in forcing any particular teaching method on students, but rather in giving students to set the learning environment according to their abilities and preferences. This way, I not only teach but build a mutual understanding and communication with my students so that they feel at ease and learn in their comfort zone.
MA English
I am an English postgraduate with UGC NET which is the qualification required to work at university level in India. I worked as an assistant professor for a year at Calicut University. It was a good experience. Apart from teaching, I also got the opportunity to guide my students on their degree projects as well as also got the opportunity to evaluate university papers. I am very fond of English language and literature and teaching is my passion. I can teach students phonetics, grammar as well as literature.
I always opt for the interactive sessions with my students. A student centered teaching system is the method that I followed during my teaching days. I always give my students their space to express their opinion. Because I believe it will help them to enhance their communication skills. We can learn a language only by practicing more and more. While teaching grammar topics, I create some examples from the circumstances of the students. So they can easily understand the concepts and I can easily grab their attention. Moreover, an interactive style was followed in my language classes.
