Ph.D. in French Studies
After twenty-five years of teaching, my experience has been meaningful and fulfilling. I have a Ph.D. in French Studies from the University of Cambridge and have spent 25 years helping students with the A-level French curriculum. I am currently 50 years old and working in the French Language Department. I have a lot of experience in French Studies, which means I have a deep understanding and love for the subject.
I aim to make learning French interesting and effective. We'll begin with the fundamentals and gradually move on to more advanced subjects, expanding your vocabulary as we go. My lessons are interactive and incorporate multimedia materials to give you context and encourage speaking practice. Making mistakes is encouraged as it is a natural part of the learning experience. You can expect regular assessments to track your progress and receive helpful feedback to assist you in accomplishing your French journey.

Master's in French Linguistics
I have 12 years of teaching experience and a Master's degree in French Linguistics from the University of Geneva. Throughout my career, I have focused on helping my students develop a strong understanding of the French language. I have a strong background in teaching the language and helping students understand the beauty of French linguistics. I take a comprehensive approach, using my understanding of language and culture to create a rewarding learning experience.
I focus on helping students understand the practical aspects of language through exciting teaching methods. I strive to connect theoretical knowledge with practical application by emphasising on structures, pronunciation, and real-life communication scenarios. I prioritise being able to confidently interact with French-speaking communities, in addition to having a strong command of the language.
Olivia's classes focus on practical, real-world applications and involve active participation. She has a valuable emphasis on practical communication skills.
Master's in French Literature
My main goal is to create a learning environment that is both interesting and educational. I aim to make French literature more accessible and engaging, motivating my students to share their ideas and form a personal connection with the substance. I strongly believe in prioritizing the needs of my students by tailoring my teaching methods to suit different learning styles. It is important to me that every student feels acknowledged and encouraged throughout their learning journey. I am very enthusiastic about French culture, and I try to inspire my students with the same enthusiasm.
The main goal of my teaching strategy is to encourage critical thinking. I want to go beyond rote learning by involving students in in-depth conversations about French literature, culture, and society. I push students to question assumptions, examine literature critically, and form their own opinions. In addition to language proficiency, I place a strong emphasis on intellectual curiosity and clear thinking.
I have been studying French with Sophia for nearly three years. I really enjoy the ease of attending online classes using Skype. Sophia has been an excellent and understanding teacher who has assisted me in successfully completing the Delf B2 test and significantly enhancing my confidence and fluency in speaking French.
