PhD in Roman Literature and Art
I have been teaching Latin in the IB program for more than 30 years. I have seen how Latin instruction has changed over time. I have taught in different places, like regular classrooms and online platforms. I have changed and improved my teaching methods with each new group of students. In recent years, I have worked with other scholars, participated in many workshops, and always asked students for their feedback. This has helped me improve my teaching skills and accommodate different ways of learning.
We explore Latin through the arts. We dive into Latin songs, poetry, and even Latin sayings in famous artworks. This approach adds a creative dimension to learning and makes Latin more expressive and enjoyable. Through art and music, you'll connect with the Latin language on a deeper level.
I am thankful that Theodore can help me teach my son. He always gets things done on time and carefully. In order to motivate even a 13-year-old who is crazy about TikTok, he plans his study time in great detail. My son wants to sit down and work because he spends a lot of time planning the lessons himself. I can't say enough good things about Theodore.
Theodore's passion for the subject shines through. I do sometimes wish for more regular grammar drills, but his approach is very unique.

During my almost 28 years of teaching Latin in the IB curriculum, I have witnessed and adjusted to various changes in teaching methods and student requirements. In the beginning, I used traditional methods. But as time went on, I started using a more holistic approach. I have taught students from different schools and programs, and each student has brought something special to my teaching experience. My extensive experience has helped me become more patient, flexible, and creative in how I teach.
I bring Latin to life through captivating stories. We read and create narratives in Latin, which helps you absorb the language naturally. Stories make learning enjoyable, and they provide context for Latin words and phrases. Whether it's a mythological tale or a modern story, you'll discover the beauty of Latin as a storytelling language.
Rosie is very passionate about the topic she teaches, which, combined with her knowledge of the topic, helps to ensure that the lectures are both educational and engaging for the students. My kid thoroughly enjoys the classes, and she is very well-organized and has a lot of teaching expertise. She is covering the material both quickly and completely when they work together, and I am extremely pleased with the progress that has been accomplished up to this point.
Rosie is simply amazing in every way. Her approach to teaching is quite productive, despite the fact that she has a laid-back but professional demeanor. She never loses her patience, is of great assistance, and modifies her instruction based on what you hope to gain from the class. Well worth the cost; I cannot suggest her highly enough.
Master's in Classical Literature and Latin
I have been teaching Latin to students who follow the IB curriculum for 20 years. I have helped students learn Latin, from ancient Rome to the language's details. Throughout the years, I have had the opportunity to teach students from different backgrounds. Each student has their own reasons for studying Latin and brings their own unique perspectives. My teaching style has been influenced by my experiences, which have made it more inclusive and effective.
My approach to teaching Latin is all about connecting it to everyday life. We explore how Latin roots and phrases are still used in modern languages, including English. By making these connections, Latin becomes relevant and accessible. From scientific terms to legal jargon, Latin is all around us. You'll see it's not just a historical language but one that still influences our world today.
As an adult who is going back to school to take a class, I'm glad I picked Reggie as my teacher. I really appreciate how patient he is with me and how gradually he works, which helps me a lot. Under his careful and steady guidance, I'm sure my Latin will improve a lot. Five stars.
Reggie is a clear, kind, and well-organized teacher. He leads students through the modules in a way that makes sense and checks their learning as they go. I'm really loving the lessons, and getting better. I have no doubts about recommending him.

During my 12 years as an educator, I have focused on teaching Latin to my students. I have been focused on the IB curriculum for the past seven years because it has challenging requirements. I have met many students who are interested in different things, like ancient cultures or learning Latin for its language difficulties. Each year, new people come with different ideas and questions, which makes me change and improve as a teacher. It's nice to see students progress from saying simple Latin phrases to having detailed conversations about Roman history, thanks to their new language skills.
To me, Latin is not only a language, but also a way to travel back in time. I try to teach students both language and culture. I start by teaching basic grammar and vocabulary to make sure every student feels confident in their fundamental skills. Then, we move on to more challenging readings and interpretations. As we learn more about the language, we also learn about the Romans and their literature, art, and philosophy. My lessons are engaging and involve talking, sharing ideas, and working together on projects. I think it's best to learn a language by speaking it, even if it's a 'dead' language like Latin. In my classes, students are encouraged to talk, act out scenes from plays, and write their own short stories in Latin.I use a mix of regular textbooks and online resources to make sure my students can use different materials. Also, I often give them extra materials such as videos, podcasts, and articles that give a modern view on old texts. Students should understand how historical language relates to their lives today.
Mila is a great teacher. She is lively, and the lessons are fun. Anyone can ask her a question, and she is happy to answer them. She also makes great decisions about what to teach people who want to learn Latin. I would suggest this to anyone who wants to learn seriously.
Mila has been teaching Latin to both of my sons for their IB exams. An excellent tutor who is clear in their explanations and gets right to the point. Very pleased with how things have been going thus far.

My teaching journey has been 8 years long, and Latin has been a central part of it. I have been teaching different age groups, with a special focus on the IB curriculum, for the past five years. I have had a variety of students, from people who really enjoy learning languages to those who are just taking the class because they have to. Every student, with their different backgrounds and motivations, has taught me something new, which has helped me improve my teaching approach. I am happy to see that many of my students have continued studying classics or have found creative ways to use their Latin skills.
Teaching Latin involves understanding the language's structure and connecting to its heritage. I have two main ways of teaching: first, making sure you understand the basics really well, and second, showing you how the lessons apply to the real world. I want to make learning more relatable and interesting by using stories, historical events, and Latin-rooted words in modern languages. In my class, we not only study Latin, but we also experience it firsthand.
Mr. Owen's approach to Latin is different from anything I've experienced. He doesn't just teach, he narrates. Every lesson is a new story!
Luke has been quite helpful overall. He is good at explaining things, and I've definitely improved my Latin skills. However, sometimes he can be a bit too strict with deadlines, which can be stressful.
