PhD in Molecular Biology from Stanford University
I began my career in biological studies 29 years ago with a focus on molecular aspects. Over these years, I've taught in several renowned institutions. My primary responsibilities have been to study cellular behaviors and collaborate on international biology projects. Many students enter the field out of interest and, through guidance and education, become dedicated contributors to the discipline.
To me, biology is the story of life, and my approach has always been to tell that story engagingly. Through interactive experiments, real-life applications, and bridging complex topics with everyday experiences, I aim to bring the subject alive. The world of biology is vast and ever-changing, and I believe in keeping my students at the forefront of discoveries. The IB curriculum is comprehensive, and I blend its difficult standards with my personalized touch, ensuring that students not only excel academically but also develop a genuine appreciation for the wonders of biology.
Ms. Martinez's classes were a revelation. The way she explains molecular processes made even the most complex topics accessible. My friends and I am delighted with her teaching style. She answers to our questions and give satisfactory answers
Amanda's wealth of experience shows in her teaching. Her lessons are thorough, though I do hope for more interactive sessions.
Master's in General Science from University of Manchester
I began my journey as a science teacher 12 years ago at Elmwood Middle School. During these years, I've had the privilege of teaching over 300 students, each unique in their approach to learning. The school's diverse environment provided me an opportunity to adapt my teaching methods to cater to different learning styles. From demonstrating chemical reactions with hands-on experiments to organizing field trips to local science museums, I've always believed in making lessons tangible and relatable. One of the highlights of my career was when our class project on sustainable energy was recognized at the National School Science Fair. Collaborating with students, understanding their challenges, and celebrating their moments has been a fulfilling experience for me. I've also spent summers attending workshops to keep up-to-date with the latest teaching methods and scientific discoveries. This continuous learning allows me to bring fresh perspectives and updated knowledge into the classroom.
In my science class, we keep things simple. Instead of just reading books, we observe everyday life. Maybe that's watching how water boils to understand heat or checking out the stars at night for a bit of astronomy. We also try little experiments, like seeing what things float in water or why certain things burn and others don’t. I believe that by seeing and doing, we remember better. So, our class is all about learning science by being curious and exploring the world we live in.
Richard's way of teaching is both informative and engaging. I always look forward to his classes!
Highly organized and analytical. I would confidently suggest him to anyone who is having trouble. My confidence in my homeschooling classes has increased thanks to his assistance in lessons. He also makes.
Master's in General Science from King's College, London
I am Matthew Lewis with a Master's in General Science from King's College, London. For over ten years, I've taught science in both city and countryside schools. Each setting has offered unique challenges and insights. I've observed the varied learning styles of students and adapted my methods to suit their needs. Along the way, I've collaborated with other educators, attended workshops to enhance my teaching strategies, and consistently sought feedback to improve.
I think science can be found anywhere. I use real-life stories and situations to help students understand ideas in my classes. To make sure everyone understands, I often use multimedia presentations, easy demonstrations, and observations from the field. Although textbooks are helpful, I like to add to my lessons with current study papers and articles that help students understand how science is always changing. Basically, I want my classes to be lively conversations about the amazing things in the world.
My kid was having trouble with her science and math tests, as well as the stress and anxiety that comes with them. Throughout her IB years, Matthew provided her with patient and compassionate tutoring. He was able to give her more self-assurance and a genuine sense of trust in her abilities. Matthew comes highly recommended; don't be afraid to get in touch with him. This morning, my daughter got her grades, and she got two better than her mocks. Many thanks, Matthew!!
His classes are a mix of stories, facts, and hands-on experiences. It's a unique approach that I appreciate. A thorough comprehension of the subjects and the difficulties the student might encounter in pursuing them; make extensive use of resources to help the student overcome any difficulties.
Master's in Zoology from University of Bristol
I earned my MSc in Zoology and have spent the past nine years teaching both biology and general science. My expertise spans from elementary to high school general science and up to biology at the IB level. My focus areas include biology, evolution, wildlife, and genetics. I aim to integrate practical biology applications into daily life and guide students in finding their niche within the biological sciences. Additionally, I offer guidance on writing research papers on various topics.
I teach science by making it easy and relatable. We use everyday things and situations to explain big ideas. For example, we might use cooking to learn about chemistry or look at plants in our surroundings to understand biology. I like students to ask questions and explore on their own. We do many small activities and projects so students can see science in the world around them. It's about learning together and finding fun in discovery.
Many, many thanks! My brother has learned a lot from your tutoring sessions, and I appreciate your patience with him.He praised your sessions, saying they were really interesting. Again, I appreciate it. Please hire her because she is an excellent tutor who pays close attention to her students and uses clear, concise language while talking to them.
I admire how she can link a science topic to an everyday scenario. Makes retention easier.
