B.A. Hons in Italian Linguistics
I started learning Italian ten years ago in Turin, which is a beautiful place. I became very interested in the Italian language and it soon became a strong passion of mine. Studying in Italy gave me a hands-on experience that went beyond just reading textbooks. I have spent a lot of time talking to people, learning the informal language, and appreciating the beauty of Italian. In the last 10 years, I have used my knowledge to teach and have helped many students learn about this Romance language.
Learning a language involves more than just memorising words. It also involves understanding the culture, history, and values of the people who speak it. In my classes, I make sure students understand both the grammar and the cultural aspects. I use a combination of traditional teaching methods and modern interactive tools, such as stories and audio-visuals. My goal is to help students feel connected to Italian and make learning enjoyable.
Naomi's classes have been an absolute delight. Her lessons always have a personal touch, and I feel like I've traveled through Italy without leaving my room.
I'm having a great time in our classes, Naomi! I've started attending classes regularly, and I'm committed to learning enough Italian to carry on meaningful conversations in this language. Despite my lack of experience, Naomi always has everything ready for our lessons, offers resources to me, and encourages me to talk and listen in Italian. She is a delightful person to talk to and has excellent explanation skills! She is an excellent choice for an Italian language instructor!
Naomi has taught my kid a couple times, and they have gotten along well. Although difficult, the classes are enjoyable. She is ready for the lessons with great preparation. We intend to keep in regular contact with her.
MA in Italian Studies with a focus on Modern Literature
I got my MA in Italian Studies from the University of Florence. Then, I took a year off to travel around Italy and learn about the different dialects and cultures in each region. This trip helped me learn more about the Italian language than what I could learn from textbooks. I have been teaching students for 9 years. I combine traditional curriculum with my travel experiences. My students are enthusiastic.
To understand a language well, you need to learn about its culture, subtle differences, and the situations in which it is used. I teach more than just grammar and vocabulary. I teach students about Italian traditions, festivals, and the differences between regions. My students learn Italian by listening to stories, studying classic literature, and trying regional dishes. This helps them understand how the language is used in real life.Interactive sessions are important. I support students in talking, making errors, gaining knowledge, and becoming more confident in themselves.
After 8 weeks of lessons, I'm really happy with how things are going. He makes sure that every lesson is fun and fits my needs by paying attention to what I'm interested in and planning it around those. I'm very thankful for his help, and I would suggest him to anyone who wants to learn Italian.
Great tutor, very patient, and nice. It takes into account special needs (in my case ADHD) and changes the lesson plan to fit your needs. I would strongly suggest. Thank you, Benjamin
I appreciate his diverse teaching techniques. However, at times, I feel we divert too much from the syllabus. A balance would be ideal.
M.A. in Italian Studies
I finished my master's degree in Milan and then I immersed myself in Italian culture. I explored the city and spent time with the local people. My personal experience was very helpful when I chose to become a teacher. In the past 9 years, I have taught students about the language and culture of Italy. I teach lessons that include stories and interesting facts from both the busy streets of Milan and the peaceful countryside. This adds an authentic touch to my lessons.
My teaching style focuses on making Italian easy to understand and applicable to real-life situations. I use traditional language learning methods and share stories from my time in Italy. My students not only learn the language, but also experience Italian culture, traditions, and daily life. I like using interactive learning with videos and real-life examples to help people understand things better.
Sadie is an amiable educator who infuses joy into the process of learning. We engage in various activities, such as reading and decoding, watching movies or speeches and then responding to questions about them in Italian, solving crossword puzzles, having dialogues, adding missing words to phrases, etc. It's instructive and makes for an engaging lesson. For anyone looking to learn Italian, we wholeheartedly suggest Sadie.
Sadie is a well-versed tutor. Her personal experiences make her lessons intriguing. I just wish we had more practice worksheets.
Excellent class with a fun teacher that taught me a lot.
MA in Italian Linguistics and Literature
I got my MA in Italian Linguistics and Literature from the University of Rome. Then, I came back to my hometown with a goal: to teach young people about the Italian language and culture. I have been teaching Italian for the past 8 years, helping students become skilled in speaking the language and developing an appreciation for its literature.Outside of school, I have been fortunate enough to participate in Italian language workshops and cultural immersion programs. This has helped me strengthen my connection to the language and its rich history.
Learning a new language is not just about memorizing words or knowing grammar. I focus on a well-rounded approach where students learn the Italian language. I use Italian films, music, and literature in my lessons to help students learn the language in a real-life way.Feedback is important. I make sure to talk openly with my students, understand what they are good at and what they need to work on, and then adjust my teaching methods to help them.
Ariana is a great teacher, and her lesson plans are thorough and easy to follow. I felt like I had made a lot of progress after just one class. I strongly advise! To begin, she is very friendly, which makes it much easier to learn from her. She also makes sure that each lesson is relevant to your hobbies, which makes it easy to stay interested and motivated. She does a great job of explaining grammar and how words change in Italian compared to a straight translation into English. This helps me remember things and understand how sentences work better. I would definitely recommend her as a teacher to anyone, because even though I'm a beginner, I'm learning so quickly thanks to how well she teaches.
I love how she brings in different media like movies and songs to teach. I just wish we had a bit more time for spoken practice in class.
Her classes are informative, but they can sometimes feel packed. It's a bit overwhelming trying to keep up, especially with the cultural references.
M.A. in Italian Culture and Literature
For the past eight years, I have taught the Italian language, focusing on its literature and culture. During my postgraduate studies in Milan, I focused on academics and fully experienced the local way of life. I spent my days talking to people who spoke the local language, reading books from the area, and attending events celebrating the culture. My real-life experiences have been very helpful in shaping how I teach. They allow me to bring authentic experiences into the classroom.
I believe in making a fun and interactive learning environment. Grammar and vocabulary are important, but context is also very important. I use Italian films, songs, and books in my lessons to do this. This method helps students learn the language and also understand and appreciate the culture it represents. This approach to language learning works well with students.
Ms. Moreau's teaching method is a mix of traditional and modern, which I liked. But sometimes, I felt we could've spent more time on grammar.
Ruby is fantastic! She's young and energetic, and her passion for Italian is evident. The movie sessions were my favorites.
When it comes to learning Italian, Ruby is the best! The past year, I have been working with her and learning Italian. She never fails to start class on schedule and is always well-prepared with a wide range of engaging activities that include both oral and written components. Since I'm just starting, she's been a terrific resource for learning and understanding proper grammatical usage. It's helpful for me as a beginner to know that we can easily switch to English if I'm having trouble understanding something. She comes highly recommended by me! :)
