My journey in teaching English began after completing my Masters in English Literature. I have since worked with diverse groups of students, from elementary school children learning the basics of grammar to adults seeking to improve their written and spoken English. My decade-long experience includes preparing students for standardized tests like the TOEFL and IELTS, as well as helping with creative writing and literary analysis. I've also spent time teaching English as a second language, which has enriched my understanding of the challenges faced by non-native speakers.
I focus on the four key areas of language learning: reading, writing, speaking, and listening. My methods include interactive reading sessions, where we analyze texts together, and writing workshops, where I provide constructive feedback to enhance students' writing skills. For speaking and listening, I incorporate engaging activities like role-playing and listening exercises. In the past decade, I've explored the world of English teaching through various lenses. Starting in local schools, moving on to ESL programs abroad, and finally transitioning to online teaching in recent years, my exposure to students from different walks of life has been vast. From helping students crack international English exams to assisting local communities in understanding basic English for everyday use, my journey has been varied and rich in learning experiences.
I believe in the mantra, "Learn by doing." In my classes, you won't just hear about how the language works; you'll be actively using it. We'll engage with real-world content, from news articles to popular music. Each lesson is designed with a practical task in mind, be it ordering food at a restaurant, making a presentation at work, or just chatting with friends. This task-based approach ensures that students not only learn English but are also able to use it confidently in real-world situations.
Anna gives you straight, honest comments and the work you need to do. I learned that chitchatting is not her thing. Our lessons were mostly about the work and the test. Working with her is a great idea if you care about getting results. She shows you the way, and you get better faster than if you worked on your skills by yourself. When it comes to my TOEFL score, I'm very happy. My goal was 83, and I got 108.
The lessons are great, and Anna is patient. I just wish we had more grammar-focused sessions.

I've been an online teacher for more than five years. Because each student is different, I believe in making sure they have the best, most relaxed space possible to learn a lot. In English and Global Perspectives, most of my students got A*s and A grades. I know the material well, and being able to speak English fluently is an added bonus that makes learning easier, no matter where you are in the world. I also know much about teaching English for the IELTS and the SAT exams.
As an educator, I hold the perspective that relying solely on a single textbook for instruction may not be the most effective approach.
