Ph.D. in American Literature
I'm Guinevere Darius. My passion for the English language has led me to earn a Ph.D. in American Literature and dedicate 17 years to teaching. From working with struggling students to guiding top achievers, I've seen the power of education. I've also been involved in curriculum development, educational research, and even hosting literary workshops. My love for painting and classical music has often found its way into my teaching. Every day, every lesson is a new opportunity to inspire and be inspired.
I believe in nurturing the voice of each student, encouraging them to explore and express themselves. My lessons are not confined to textbooks. They are a mix of literature, culture, history, and personal expression. I use discussions, creative writing exercises, and even artistic interpretations to make learning a multisensory experience. My goal is to create a stimulating space where students can grow, question, and discover.
Ms.Guinevere is a good teacher, but sometimes the lessons are too long. I get tired, but I'm learning a lot.
Guinevere turned my fear of English into a love for it. I used to dread writing, but now I enjoy it. Thanks for being so patient and understanding! I can write anything in my English subject now. And with just one reading of exam or test questions, I know what to answer. Never had this much confidence in this language before.
I like Ms.Guinevere, but the classes need to be slowed down a bit. Sometimes, it feels like we're jumping from one thing to another.
Ph.D. in English Prose and Poems
I'm Pascal Wade, a 43-year-old English tutor. I have a Ph.D. in English Prose and Poems, and an impressive 15 years of tutoring experience. My teaching career is broad. From guiding young minds in elementary school to mentoring university scholars, I've shaped the future of countless students. I've also taught creative writing, public speaking, and critical thinking. Outside the classroom, my hobbies like gardening and hiking have taught me patience and observation. These are qualities that I infuse into my teaching.
My approach revolves around professionalism. I believe in a structured and systematic method based on the needs and goals of each student. By using techniques such as textual analysis, thematic exploration, and rhetorical studies, I provide a deep understanding of English. I use modern technology and traditional methods to create a balanced learning environment. With a focus on critical thinking, creativity, and effective communication, I give my students the skills they need to excel in their academic and professional lives.
Dr. Pascal made English fun for me. I used to struggle, but now I'm one of the best in my class. He really listens and helps you understand. I love every minute of our sessions and love getting his guidance regarding the subject, exam, predicted questions, and more. Thanks a lot sir.
Pascal is nice, but the classes are sometimes too easy. I wish we could learn more challenging stuff.
I like Dr. Pascal’s classes, but sometimes the lessons are too short. I’m learning, though, and enjoy the creative activities.
MPhil in English Language
Hey, I have an MPhil degree in English Language. My career began in the halls of university, where I dived into classic and contemporary literature. But the real joy for me has always been sharing this knowledge with others. Over the years, I've worked with students of all ages, and nothing compares to the satisfaction of seeing a young mind grasp the beauty of language. It's a privilege to guide the next generation of thinkers and writers.
I follow a personalized and interactive approach. My lessons are about discovering the power of words and the emotions they can bring. I inspire my students and develop a lifelong love for English. Book a session with me and see English in a new way!
Vaughan is the best English tutor I've ever had! He is always ready and easy to chat to. He explains english concepts smoothly and completely knows the subject. Vaughan was very reliable, productive, and upbeat in his approach. I will book more sessions with him in the future.
Vaughan is a good tutor, but I had trouble aligning with his tutoring method in the writing part.
I appreciate Vaughan’s dedication and creative teaching methods. I enjoy the lessons, but sometimes the homework load feels a bit too much.
MPhil in English literature
Hey there! I'm an English enthusiast with an MPhil in the subject and a fantastic 7-year career of online tutoring for A-level students. Every student I've met has added a vibrant color to my teaching career.
When it comes to teaching, I believe in making it as fun as possible. Remember the joy of hearing a story for the first time? That's how I approach language teaching. We'll read engaging tales, where you're both the listener and the storyteller, making language learning feel like a thrilling adventure. And don't worry, I've got your back! Together, we'll solve challenges, celebrate your progress, and make sure you ace your exams.
Taking lessons with Arlo feels like chatting with a friend who just happens to be an English genius! I've never felt more at ease while learning.
The interactive storytelling sessions are a game-changer. I've not only improved my grades, but also discovered a love for creative writing. Kudos to Arlo!
I've had many tutors in the past, but none are as supportive and fun as Mr. Arlo. The lessons are engaging, and I've gained so much confidence in my English skills. It is so hard to find helpful tutors these days who are sincerely rooting for you. That’s why I am so fortunate to learn from him.
MPhil in English
Ever since I wrapped up my Bachelor's and MPhil in English, I've been on this incredible career of sharing my love for the language. You know, it's not just about the Shakespearean sonnets or the rules of grammar. It's about the stories we tell, the emotions we convey, and the connections we make. Every student I've had the pleasure of tutoring has added a new chapter to my story. We've laughed over quirky idioms, thought over deep poetry, and sometimes even groaned over tricky grammar together. It's these moments, these shared experiences, that make every session so special to me. I remember the late nights, the last-minute revisions, the happiness of seeing a student's eyes light up when they finally "get it."
Teaching, for me, is like having a heart-to-heart chat with a friend. It's relaxed, it's fun, and it's personal. I've always believed that learning should be enjoyable, and to make that happen, I bring some cool tools to the table. We use Padlet to brainstorm ideas like we're pinning on a virtual board. Quizlet becomes our go-to for those vocabulary challenges, turning them into a game. And oh, the joy of turning a lesson into a quiz competition with Kahoot!. These are our little ways of adding some spice to the learning process. But more than the tools, it's the bond I share with my students that truly defines my approach. I'm not just a tutor; I'm a mentor, a friend, someone who's genuinely invested in their success. We celebrate the small wins, work through the challenges, and always keep the fun alive.
I used to fear English so much, but now? It's my favorite subject! All thanks to the incredible teaching style and endless support from Indigo. Highly recommend it!
I appreciate how Indigo makes each lesson based on my needs. She truly cares about my progress, and it shows. However, I struggled a bit with class scheduling and timing.
The blend of traditional teaching with modern techniques makes learning with Ms. Indigo a unique experience. I've seen a massive improvement in my grades and overall understanding. Thank you so much for your efforts! I recommend Indigo for your English tutoring.
MPhil in English
My tutoring career started when I had a chance to teach a middle schooler English. I was amazed at how difficult it is for him to grab simple grammar and create a sentence. Later, as I continued teaching more students, I figured out that most of them could not translate their creativity into this very language. Since English is the language of many nations, I decided to teach young brains how to master it without stressing. After my graduation, I started teaching O/A levels students to help them have a great foundation in this very subject. I loved how my students responded, which motivated me to continue supporting all the other pupils. I pride myself as someone whose students come with an A+ and admission to the most prestigious universities.
My tutoring approach is to start hitting the basics and then build the English language on that! I always make sure my pace is good enough for the students, so they complete all their course contents in time. Moreover, I also plan some revisions and tests to assess student’s knowledge and understanding. Above all, the teaching plan and approach are based on each student’s needs. Plus, I always discuss that with them and their parents as we begin our course work.
Ms. Rocco has one of the best teaching techniques I found. I always knew what my daughter was learning and how she was being taught. Also, I am so happy her grades improved so much. Highly recommended.
Zahra is an amazing teacher with English teaching skills that are out of this world! She is extremely supportive and willing to explain again and again. Zahra does not mind going over the topics deeply while asking questions to guarantee I understand.
Ms. Rocco is good. However, the plenty of homework and assignments is quite overwhelming.
BS Honors in English
English has become the language of the world. Most universities and colleges give you preferences based on your expertise in English literature along with your expertise in your specific domain. This is the very thing that made me start tutoring 5 years back, soon after my graduation in English language. I tutored many college and school students to help them understand this really sophisticated language without any trouble. I also helped people ace exams like IELTS, etc with awesome grades. And here I am on the MTS platform offering my services for tutoring all the A-levels students to help them get the grades they are looking for!
My tutoring approach is nothing close to making you learn essays, prose, and poems. I help my students fall in love with English. Therefore, I always start with some literature. This helps my students develop their interest in English. I then add the course content in that literature i.e. I may be discussing with you the grammar rules we are supposed to discuss today from the book chapter you just read.I love to talk to the students about their interests. And I believe communication is the key to learning a language. So, I encourage them to speak and vocalize their thoughts. As I reply to them, I try to use vocabulary I want them to remember into their writing. So, you see it's not only cramming the rules of grammar and learning to write essays and letters. With me, you will love English and that’s what I am confident about.
Miss Tansy is one of the most fun teachers I ever got. She is easy to communicate with, and I love how she makes everything easy! Any language cannot be understood without productive communication and I am so lucky to have her!!
I have been very weak in English since forever and started to hate this subject. But thanks to Tansy, she made it easy for me. I even write long and impactful essays. My school teachers are impressed with my improvement.
She is a kind human, but her way of teaching is not for me.
Bachelor in English
Each student I've encountered has brought with them their set of challenges and goals, and I love seeing their growth. My academic background, combined with my hands-on experience, has made me an expert of online teaching and the specific needs of A-level students.
My approach revolves around creative language teaching techniques, such as contextual learning. I also use interactive storytelling, allowing students to develop their narratives, thereby improving their creative thinking and language application skills. My ultimate goal is to make sure that every student feels confident in their abilities, achieves stellar grades, and develops a lifelong love for the English language.
Finnegan is one of the most inspiring English teachers I ever met. His way of teaching is unique as he relates everything to daily life and my mother tongue. He motivates you to try new things and spark creativity. I am grateful for my improvement after every lesson. Highly recommended.
Mr. Finnegan is the best!
Finnegan teaches you how to learn English without making it a task! Thanks to him I got great grades! He is very easy to talk to. Finnegan manages to make even the most complicated topics easy by explaining the content thoroughly and gets to the point quickly. I would definitely recommend him for English tutoring!
MPhil in Linguistics
Hi. I’m Zuri, a fun-to-be-with tutor, who teaches A-level English to those struggling with this language. My goal is helping all those students develop English skills for whom English has never been their primary language. My career has been filled with various challenges, but the victories I scored always made me keep moving. I've learned from every student and each classroom offers different viewpoints. From the rhythms of poetry to reading the layers within classic prose, my lessons are insightful where every literary device is important. While many tutors might focus on textbook theories, my expertise is in real-time sessions.
In a world saturated with information, the true art lies in how you deliver that information. My strategy as an English teacher is not to flood students with knowledge, but to sharpen their cognitive tools, allowing them to read through the material with a practised eye. Through this, I inspire them to question, debate, and understand the socio-cultural significance of literature. In our era of digital noise, I'm here to develop discerning minds.
Zuri’s interactive teaching methods kept me engaged throughout the term. She helped me with my A-level exam and explained everything perfectly. I felt very confident and she supported me with all of her energy. If you are looking for an A-Level English tutor, you have arrived on the right profile. Thank you for your guidance and support Zuri!
I expected a more traditional approach to teaching. The discussions are quite comprehensive. However, the basics are sometimes overlooked, which makes learning and grasping the concept for someone like me, for whom English is not the mother tongue, very difficult.
Ms. Santos is a good teacher, but her teaching style might not be for everyone. I prefer a simple approach.
MPhil
I'm Seth Ivan, an MPhil scholar and a proud BS English graduate with 3 years of dedicated teaching experience. My academic career has been marked by achievements and accolades, including winning national essay competitions and being honored as a gold medalist in my BS program. But my true calling isn't just about scoring great grades; it's about helping others do the same. I've seen firsthand how students struggle with English, and I've made it my mission to change that. I want to help students not only love this incredible language, but also achieve the grades they've always dreamed of.
My approach is rooted in understanding the unique hurdles and goals of each student. I know what it takes to ace exams, and I'm here to share that knowledge. But it's not just about passing tests; it's about truly appreciating the English language. I provide the tools and guidance needed to excel. My lessons are engaging, focused, and designed to build confidence.
Mr. Seth helped me find my voice in writing. I even won a writing competition and scored an A in my A-level exam! He’s the best English tutor I've ever had.
I was excited about Seth, but the lessons lacked focus. I need more structure and clear goals.
