I’m an examiner for the GCSE exam boards. Plus, I’m a seasoned teacher and have also taught at colleges.
Since I’m a versatile teacher, I adopt different teaching methods based on what a student needs such as The Direct Method, The Grammar Translation Method, The Audio Lingual Method, The Structural Approach, and Communicative Language Teaching (CLT). I’m well-versed in the IB curriculum too.
Frederick is an excellent teacher! He provides both a great mix of listening, speaking and practical learning activities. As a student, you feel pushed to learn, try out new methods, and gain valuable feedback for improvement.

In my three years of teaching, I've offered academic coaching to students. This has taught me the value of individualized approaches. A significant aspect of my role is maintaining open lines of communication with parents. This allows us to collaborate effectively, ensuring the student receives consistent guidance both at school and home. Together, we discuss the student's progress, identifying areas of improvement, and celebrating achievements. My students feel supported every step of the way.
Understanding that every student comes with their own set of challenges, I focus on addressing motivational hurdles. It's not just about teaching English; it's about inspiring a love for the language. I believe in celebrating small wins, which play a crucial role in building a student’s confidence. Using customized techniques, I encourage students to believe in their potential, and guide them in overcoming any academic challenges. By setting achievable goals, I help them relate their progress to their larger goals.
Gemma is very cheerful, and her lessons are productive. She is a very experienced, helpful, and caring teacher. I am so lucky to have met Gemma. English is now my fav subject, all thanks to Gemma. Thanks a bunch!

During my two years of teaching, I've developed an art of tutoring session management. I believe that a well-structured session sets the tone for effective learning. Mr. Holden is an educated fellow who knows IB curriculum and english perfectly. This makes me confident in learning from him. Not only this, Holden’s study materials are also incredibly helpful. I wish he had more free time so I could book more sessions.
