Andre's approach is new and interesting. A lot of teachers start with coding right away, but he takes his time. He will instead connect an idea to something you use every day, like an app on your phone. As soon as you start writing code, everything makes sense. He can take even the most complicated ideas and make them easier to understand. I now really understand what it means to "think like a programmer" thanks to him.
Computer science has always seemed a little scary to me. But Andre is good at breaking things down. There is an equal amount of study and practice in his sessions. He often stops writing code to talk about the "why" or theory behind a function. It has been hard to learn, but I really think I'm getting there.
