If you are reading this, it means that my profile drew your attention. I came from what is called a linguistic background. In the world of languages, English grabbed my attention first. I have to say that I have been teaching English for 12 years. I have also been learning other languages at the same time, such as Latin and Russian.

Tutoring Approach

When it comes to my method, I try to help tutees to understand their psychology. This makes them independent in their learning abilities. I also create a space where we can both grow within the language by questioning concepts and articulating them. We will also carry out analysis and, most importantly, self-analysis.  I was born in Spain but have also lived in Latin America for a while. I have always been interested in the connections between English and Latin American literature. I started teaching in Madrid and then went on to teach at different universities in South America. I love exploring the connections between English classics and Latin American masterpieces. I have written several papers on this topic.

 Literature connects different cultures, time periods, and personal stories. I want to help my students understand the bridge between different works of literature. I will focus on the story, emotions, history, and cultural importance of each work. We explore the background of each piece, finding links between worldwide events and personal stories. By doing this, students are not just reading. They are going on a journey through time and different locations, which helps them understand the interconnectedness of the literary world better.

My name is Raina. I’m a literature enthusiast, and I love screen literature. Literature itself is an amazing subject, and studying its elements in terms of theatre makes it even more incredible. I taught at colleges in Dublin, held writing workshops in London, and taught literature courses online to people all over the world. I started to understand the connections and differences between Eastern and Western literature. I have taught in different schools and universities around the world, focusing on the importance of literature in promoting conversations between different cultures. I have been studying post-colonial narratives and how literature from English-speaking countries has been received and understood in Asia. I have been sharing this topic with my students and I am very passionate about it.

When we read, we don't just understand words; we imagine being someone else, experiencing a different culture, or living in a different era. I want to make these steps very clear and lifelike. When we read Jane Austen, we will talk about the rules and expectations of society during her time. When we learn about George Orwell, we will talk about the political situations he was responding to. But I also want to consider: How might people from Eastern cultures see these works? How do different cultures affect how we understand a story or character? In my classes, I want students to actively participate in the conversation of literature. I encourage them to connect their own backgrounds and perspectives to the larger discussion happening in the literary world.
