MPhil in English Literature
My background with an MPhil degree has provided me extensive research experience, allowing me to always stay updated with the latest literary trends and teaching methods. I’m results-oriented, ensuring that my students consistently meet their academic goals. I always take continuous learning very seriously. By staying informed, I ensure my teachings reflect the most recent and relevant insights in the field of English.
I prioritize clear communication from the onset. By understanding a student's strengths, weaknesses, and objectives, I’ll deliver lessons accordingly. Goal-setting is another component in my teaching. Together with the student, we outline realistic academic targets, mapping out a clear path to achieve them. This collaborative method not only brings student engagement, but also ensures that they remain committed and accountable. The outcome? Students are more motivated, confident, and better equipped to tackle their academic challenges.
Mary is a superb tutor. She helped me so much in my GCSE English course. Her teaching skills are truly extraordinary. Mary is patient, attentive, and adjusts her teaching style to fulfill my needs. She always provides relevant explanations and examples. What I appreciate most about Mary is her optimistic attitude and her ability to make me feel at ease. I never feel nervous or small during our sessions. Instead, I always feel encouraged and guided, which has helped me to build my confidence in writing English.
She left in the middle of the session. I still haven’t received a reply.

BS (Hons) English Language and Linguistics
I’m a linguist and a tutor who has a great experience in tutoring syntax, phonology, phonetics, morphology, sociolinguistics, semantics, and other related subjects. I can tutor K-12 and undergraduate students. Currently, I’m completing my MPhil in English linguistics and writing research papers that particularly focus on sociolinguistics (the impact of language on society and vice versa), CALL (Computer Assisted Language Learning) based teaching approaches, and morphological analysis of social media discourse.
My tutoring approaches are effective and focus on building concepts and strengthening students' critical thinking. I explain the concepts verbally and sometimes with the help of digital resources/visuals, all depending on the course materials.
I wanted to study abroad, but I failed the IELTS twice before hiring Evelyn. She corrected my pronunciation, writing mistakes, and so much more. After taking her sessions, I successfully scored 8 bands! Thank you, Ida, you were great!
Very talented tutor! Evelyn helped me with my final thesis. It was a great experience.
She is a life savior! Evelyn’s thoughtful sessions improved my English skills, and now I’m working in one of the most renowned English language academies in the world!
MPhil in English
Ever since I wrapped up my Bachelor's and MPhil in English, I've been on this incredible career of sharing my love for the language. You know, it's not just about the Shakespearean sonnets or the rules of grammar. It's about the stories we tell, the emotions we convey, and the connections we make. Every student I've had the pleasure of tutoring has added a new chapter to my story. We've laughed over quirky idioms, thought over deep poetry, and sometimes even groaned over tricky grammar together. It's these moments, these shared experiences, that make every session so special to me. I remember the late nights, the last-minute revisions, the happiness of seeing a student's eyes light up when they finally "get it."
Teaching, for me, is like having a heart-to-heart chat with a friend. It's relaxed, it's fun, and it's personal. I've always believed that learning should be enjoyable, and to make that happen, I bring some cool tools to the table. We use Padlet to brainstorm ideas like we're pinning on a virtual board. Quizlet becomes our go-to for those vocabulary challenges, turning them into a game. And oh, the joy of turning a lesson into a quiz competition with Kahoot!. These are our little ways of adding some spice to the learning process. But more than the tools, it's the bond I share with my students that truly defines my approach. I'm not just a tutor; I'm a mentor, a friend, someone who's genuinely invested in their success. We celebrate the small wins, work through the challenges, and always keep the fun alive.
I used to fear English so much, but now? It's my favorite subject! All thanks to the incredible teaching style and endless support from Indigo. Highly recommend it!
I appreciate how Indigo makes each lesson based on my needs. She truly cares about my progress, and it shows. However, I struggled a bit with class scheduling and timing.
The blend of traditional teaching with modern techniques makes learning with Ms. Indigo a unique experience. I've seen a massive improvement in my grades and overall understanding. Thank you so much for your efforts! I recommend Indigo for your English tutoring.
Computer Science Engineering
I’m a certified abacus teacher with over 7 years of tutoring experience. I’m an expert at teaching K-12 students. I also served as a full-time tutor in high school. My 7 years of tutoring experience has helped and is still helping me devise new lesson plans for students. I also tutor computer science at weekly Student Programs. My favorite area is programming.
My approach is based on my extensive tutoring experience and techniques that I find extremely helpful, effective, and efficient, such as incorporating visuals in class and practically showcasing the problem-solving processes in detail.
I’ve been learning C++ from Engy, which has been an excellent experience. She is a very supportive, thoughtful, and talented tutor. Her sessions are engaging. She used unique tasks to strengthen my programming skills. Her task, assignments, and quizzes are always based on practical work. I would highly recommend Engy to students who want to learn Computer Science more easily.
She is such a great teacher. She offers an amazing learning experience to her students!
BS (Hons) English Language and Linguistics
Having worked as a Certified IELTS tutor and a school teacher for 7 years allowed me to explore different styles of teaching and handling students. I’ve experience tutoring students with IB, GSCE, IGCSE, O/A’level, and other levels of English students. Side by side, I’m completing my MPhil in applied linguistics, adding more knowledge to my brain. I can tutor students in one-on-one sessions no matter what curricula they are studying. I also provide services to candidates who want to pass IELTS, TESOL, etc.
I design my lesson’s goals and objectives after analyzing the needs of my students. Further, I implement the direct-tutoring approach and activity-based teaching methods in my online sessions for delivering my lectures. I like to work in a friendly environment where students can work independently on assigned tasks.
She listens to your problems very carefully. She also motivates her students to use English in practical life with confidence. Her sessions were just amazing.
A highly recommend tutor! She tutored my son with his IB English. He loved being in his sessions.
She is a gem! Highly recommended!
MPhil in American Literature
Early in my career, I got involved in a study abroad program that expanded my understanding of diverse learning styles and cultural details in language. This overseas experience deepened my teaching methods, making me more adaptable to students from various backgrounds. Moreover, I've always been keen on professional development. Regularly participating in workshops and seminars keeps me updated with the latest teaching techniques.
In my teachings, I emphasize constructive feedback. It’s essential to me that students understand not just the 'what' but the 'why' behind corrections or suggestions. This continuous dialogue makes sure they remain involved in their learning. Plus, considering the visual nature of today’s learning environment, I add visualizations and infographics in my lessons. These tools simplify complex ideas, making them more accessible and engaging. I guarantee that every lesson is impactful, resonating with their goals and current academic needs.
I’ll just say that Alfredo is a breath of fresh air in IB English. I haven’t looked at any other tutor since I got to know him. He makes me feel confident to learn. Plus, Alfredo prepares his lessons considering my weaknesses. He is strategic and brings humor in lessons as well. Totally recommended.
Kieran has only tutored me 5 times, but I'm already seeing improvements in my English.
Alfredo couldn’t make writing simple for me to understand.
M.A in English

I encourage you to share your screen when discussing projects or assignments, promoting collaborative work.
MEd in English Education, CELTA Certification
I began my teaching career in urban high schools, where I developed curriculum tailored to students with diverse learning needs. Later, I transitioned to teaching English at a community college, focusing on both foundational courses and advanced literature studies. Over the past five years, I've been primarily offering private tutoring sessions for adults preparing for professional qualifications and college students aiming to improve their academic writing skills.
I put a lot of importance on knowing exactly what each student wants to achieve. We break down essay questions, make outlines, and work on building a clear thesis for college students. We work on formal communication, presentations, and report writing for adults who work in the business world. I give clear, actionable feedback, and I make sure that each person has the tools they need. Making sure lessons are goal-oriented and useful can help students see real progress and use what they've learned in the real world.
Eva pinpointed my writing issues and helped me structure my college essays effectively. Grateful for her guidance.
I had to give a presentation at work. Anna's sessions on formal communication were a lifesaver. Got commendable feedback from my boss.
Eva is knowledgeable, but sometimes our sessions overrun, making it hard to manage my time.
MPhil in English
My tutoring career started when I had a chance to teach a middle schooler English. I was amazed at how difficult it is for him to grab simple grammar and create a sentence. Later, as I continued teaching more students, I figured out that most of them could not translate their creativity into this very language. Since English is the language of many nations, I decided to teach young brains how to master it without stressing. After my graduation, I started teaching O/A levels students to help them have a great foundation in this very subject. I loved how my students responded, which motivated me to continue supporting all the other pupils. I pride myself as someone whose students come with an A+ and admission to the most prestigious universities.
My tutoring approach is to start hitting the basics and then build the English language on that! I always make sure my pace is good enough for the students, so they complete all their course contents in time. Moreover, I also plan some revisions and tests to assess student’s knowledge and understanding. Above all, the teaching plan and approach are based on each student’s needs. Plus, I always discuss that with them and their parents as we begin our course work.
Ms. Rocco has one of the best teaching techniques I found. I always knew what my daughter was learning and how she was being taught. Also, I am so happy her grades improved so much. Highly recommended.
Zahra is an amazing teacher with English teaching skills that are out of this world! She is extremely supportive and willing to explain again and again. Zahra does not mind going over the topics deeply while asking questions to guarantee I understand.
Ms. Rocco is good. However, the plenty of homework and assignments is quite overwhelming.
