My tutoring approach is nothing close to making you learn essays, prose, and poems. I help my students fall in love with English. Therefore, I always start with some literature. This helps my students develop their interest in English. I then add the course content in that literature i.e. I may be discussing with you the grammar rules we are supposed to discuss today from the book chapter you just read.I love to talk to the students about their interests. And I believe communication is the key to learning a language. So, I encourage them to speak and vocalize their thoughts. As I reply to them, I try to use vocabulary I want them to remember into their writing. So, you see it's not only cramming the rules of grammar and learning to write essays and letters.
