Experience

I started teaching at the University of Doha after finishing my master's degree. In the last ten years, I have taught math at different levels, including high school algebra and college-level calculus. I have experience helping students get ready for the math sections of the SAT and GRE exams. I have been a member of academic research teams and have helped write papers on mathematical models in biology. I have also offered private tutoring to students who are having difficulty with math. I like to stay updated with the latest teaching methods and have attended training programs to improve my teaching skills.

Tutoring Approach

Math is often seen as a tough subject, but with the right guidance, anyone can understand its concepts. I prioritize understanding the problem rather than solely seeking the answer in my teaching approach. When we teach geometry, we can talk about the shapes and patterns we see in nature. To get better at math, it's important to practice. I make sure that students solve different problems until they feel confident. I offer helpful strategies and tips for students getting ready for exams. These include test-taking techniques and advice on managing time effectively.

Aisha worked with my daughter as a teacher for a year to get her ready for the 11+ exams (South West London independent schools). She used to go to a public elementary school, so she needed help learning the material more deeply and getting the confidence and "technique" to solve the more difficult problems and puzzles that kids often see on tests. Her tests were very hard, but she did great on them. These included the "notoriously challenging" 3-part math paper at London's most selective girls' school. The offer letter even said that she got a perfect score on a math test at another school. Once she knew everything she needed to know, Aisha put most of her attention on the hardest papers and worksheets. This, along with the very methodical way she solved problems, helped her get those results. Aisha is also very consistent and good at giving feedback, both good and bad. I strongly suggest that you hire her.

Great teacher, though I wish we had more online resources to complement our sessions.

My son was struggling with algebra. After sessions with Aisha, not only has he improved, but he now enjoys math!
