BE
I have 15 years of teaching experience and a very friendly teaching style. I teach my students like we are playing with the subject, giving them many examples and ways to solve problems. I also teach them how to analyse events in history critically. That's why most of my students get A* & A Grades in their eams,s and my past students play vital roles in different fields.
Communication is my best skill, and teaching is my passion. I teach my students by providing many examples through videos, photos, charts, and presentations so that they can easily understand the subject. I also teach my students how to check the accuracy of historical events. For example, while teaching history, I clearly explain all the possible ways to solve a question.
Postgraduate Diploma
I make learning enjoyable by approaching subjects like a game, using multiple examples and problem-solving strategies. My students often achieve A* and A grades, and many have gone on to excel in various fields.
I make use of the current an up to date teaching and learning methodology to impart knowledge to my learners incorporating information communication technology in the teaching and learning process.
M.A. in European Medieval History
For the past 15 years, I have been teaching history, focusing mainly on the mediaeval period in Europe. I began teaching at a well-known school in Leeds. In my career, I've worked to change the idea that mediaeval history is only about knights and castles. I have taught students about the Black Plague, Viking invasions, and Byzantine Empire, which helps them understand this time period better. I have helped many students in national history competitions, and they have done well.
Mediaeval Europe was a period of significant changes, including invasions, migrations, innovations, and trade. I want to bring this time period to life by telling stories about regular people, kings and queens, traders, and those who invaded. We often use things like maps, artefacts, and impressive buildings to better understand the details. I know that IB students face difficulties when it comes to exams. We analyse old test papers and make short but complete answers. Also, I make sure to develop a routine of regularly reviewing and promote asking a lot of questions during our sessions.
Engaging classes, but we sometimes moved too fast, especially with complex topics.
I used to dislike history because it was dull and we had to write big essays, but after switching to online learning and having Liam as my history teacher, my interest in the subject began to grow.
PhD in American History and Criticism
I have roughly 3,000 hours of experience in personalized tuition. The majority of this has been with A-level students, across the three major exam boards. I cover the content, teach essay-writing, and prepare pupils for exams. I have also taught the same subject in university courses. Plus, I have given guidance on research projects, coursework and masters dissertation.
All students have different requirements, so the structure of lessons varies. This is something that I discuss and agree upon by the end of the first session. My general approach is divided into three categories: essays, content, and exam preparation.
Great tutor. Knowledgeable, friendly, and always ready. I highly recommend it.
So pleased I found Isla through this website. She has mentored and is still teaching me in A level history course. I'm very happy with her lessons. She brings new ideas and information to boost my knowledge.
Excellent tutor, fully prepared for sessions, and assigns me work until the next session. I have no idea where to start for revision but with Isla's instructions, I can plan ahead.
MA History
I began tutoring in 2010, starting with math before expanding to various business subjects for O-level and A-level students. I hold master's degrees in Commerce and History, which enable me to teach a diverse range of subjects, including business, accounting, economics, geography, math, and history. My teaching philosophy emphasizes a gradual, methodical approach to ensure students build a solid understanding of fundamental concepts. This approach has helped me effectively convey the logical structure of complex topics.
Building a strong connection with students is crucial. I engage students by encouraging active participation and fostering an interactive learning environment. By actively listening to their questions and concerns, I can continuously assess what works best and adjust my teaching strategies accordingly.
Doctor of Philosophy in Modern European History.
Hi everyone! I’m Ali, and I’ve been tutoring history in one-on-one sessions for around 14 years. I’m an expert at tutoring in different environments, including online, face-to-face, and even group sessions. I’ve hundreds of students and helped them excel in their academic and professional lives. Currently, I’m working as a lecturer at one of the world-class universities. I’ve tutored almost all levels and ages of students, primarily the O/A level students studying different popular curriculums, i.e., SABIS, IGCSE, etc.
I like to tutor with student-centered but interactive tutoring approaches that allow the students to participate in the learning processes while enjoying the sessions. This motivates the students to learn and improves my tutees’ overall performance. Further, I believe in building strong and healthy relationships with the students. Their achievements are praised and rewarded in my sessions.
Excellent tutor! All his sessions were up-to-the-mark, and he always tried to ensure that I was having fun while learning the concepts. Highly recommended tutor!

Master of Arts in Museum Studies
My name is Ana and I’m a Museum Curator now working as a history tutor for around 14 years. I’ve been tutoring students from all around the world primarily from the UAE, Canada, and Hong Kong. Having worked as a Museum Curator, I’ve learned a lot about world history, American history, European history, and Arabian history in particular. I’ve also a wealth of knowledge of different historical cultures and I can tutor students with multiple history-related topics/courses/subjects, i.e., Ancient History, Medieval History, Renaissance History, Early Modern History, World History, European History, American History, African History, Asian History, Latin American History, Middle Eastern History, Women's History, LGBTQ+ History, Environmental History, Economic History, etc.
I use visual aids, i.e., maps, diagrams, etc., for providing the students with greater insights into what they’re learning. Keeping the students’ visual and auditory senses engaged at the same time helps them better understand the historical concepts and retain the learned knowledge for years to come. I avoid developing a teacher-centered or a fully student-centered learning environment because I believe in keeping the students engaged throughout the sessions via different activities whilst providing them with necessary instructions so they might not lose track while learning. Tests and assessments are also conducted to assess the learned knowledge of the students.
Brilliant tutor! She is great at keeping her students engaged! I mastered a lot of concepts with her help in highly engaging sessions without even realizing that I was learning.
Highly recommended tutor! Ana is such an amazing tutor. She is one of those tutors who kind of are born with amazing tutoring powers. I loved learning history with her.
I hired Ana for my son last month. The sessions with her went great. My son is happy too! We’d like to thank Ana for the great help! Highly recommended tutor!
M.A. in Renaissance History
I have worked in education for 14 years and have always been fascinated by the Renaissance period. I started my career in Southampton and focused on combining art, literature, and history to help students understand this time period from different angles. We used a new way of teaching that involved workshops. In these workshops, students would make art from the Renaissance period and learn about the social and political situations of that time. I have written articles for journals and magazines about lesser-known figures from the Renaissance.
The Renaissance was not only about bringing back art and literature, but it also changed the way people thought and valued things in society. I believe in taking a comprehensive approach to fully understand something. Every lesson usually begins with a work of art or literature. We learn about its history, why the artist created it, and how it affected society.Engagement is important. I often include hands-on projects in my lessons, like making artwork inspired by the Renaissance or writing sonnets. If you're worried about exams, our sessions focus on learning about different cultures, important people from the past, and how they still affect our world today.
We were looking for organized, well-structured GCSE History lessons. This is what we received right away after the first lesson. The lesson was planned out in advance, and we are sure Taylor makes the most of his students during class. He also assigns homework to make sure the lesson is retained. We anticipate taking additional lessons.
I always looked forward to his lessons. Just wished we explored more about the scientific advancements of the era.
Taylor did a great job. We planned to have the lesson online. He provided tutoring in history, going over assignments, and offering excellent advice on how to get better in both subjects. He was very understanding and patient. Without a doubt, I'd suggest him.
Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Archaeology
Hi! Dina here! I’m a research expert and great at tutoring history and archaeology-related subjects in highly-personalized online and face-to-face sessions. I’ve also had the privilege of working as a full-time history teacher at several institutions, where I taught a multitude of students in stationary classes and designed lesson plans that befitted their requirements.
I like to create a fun environment where students can learn while enjoying the entire learning process. I like to use engaging activities and digital resources for delivering the lectures. Students in my sessions are allowed to express their opinions and recommendations regarding the betterment of the lesson plans or so. Home assignments are usually not assigned. Instead, I focus on solving the students’ learning problems within the sessions under my supervision.
One of the best tutors so far! Dina is great at tutoring students in highly-personalized learning environments. Excellent and a wonderful tutor!
She is amazing! Her tutoring style is very impressive. I would highly recommend her to the history students who want to enjoy the lessons.
Brilliant tutor!
Ph.D. in Renaissance History
My name is Steve and I’m a passionate tutor who is skilled at conducting sessions in multiple learning environments, i.e., face-to-face and online. I’ve also conducted sessions in stationary classes and tackled the needs of more than 25+ students at the same time. My 13 years of tutoring experience have increased my subject knowledge and also helped me rise as a talented tutor with excellent communication and tutoring skills. I hold a Ph.D. degree in Renaissance History and can tutor multiple history-related subjects, i.e., Introduction to Renaissance History, Renaissance Art and Architecture Renaissance Literature, The Renaissance in Italy, Renaissance Humanism, Medieval and Renaissance Philosophy, Research Methods in Renaissance History, The Scientific Revolution, Renaissance Politics and Society, Renaissance Music and Theater, Renaissance and the Reformation, etc. I’m also skilled at tutoring IGCSE, GCSE, IB, SABIS, and many other curriculums.
I conduct detailed research on the tutee’s learning needs in order to highlight what type of activities and tutoring strategies would work best for them. My tutoring approaches also depend on the nature of the course material and its goals. For instance, for tutoring a research-based course, I tend to focus on strengthening the student’s critical thinking skills that would assist them in conducting the research, collecting the data, and analyzing the data. On the other hand, for tutoring theoretical-based courses, I usually play animation lecture videos or documentaries to keep the students engaged.
