I have spent more than 17 years studying and teaching about colonial and post-colonial histories. I began my education in Canada, where I became interested in the worldwide effects of colonialism. I went on research trips to former colonies in Africa and Asia to learn more about the legacies they left behind. For the past 15 years, I have been teaching history, focusing mainly on the mediaeval period in Europe. I began teaching at a well-known school in Leeds. In my career, I've worked to change the idea that mediaeval history is only about knights and castles. We were looking for organized, well-structured GCSE History lessons. This is what we received right away after the first lesson.
