EdD (Educational Leadership)
I’m a talented and intellectual being. My dedication and passion are the two core reasons for my interest in becoming a tutor. After graduation, I taught Biology in medical college for 5 years as a guest lecturer. Soon I started online tutoring. I can tutor all levels of students.
I believe in empowering students with the knowledge of Biology subject rather than only providing them with books and other notes-related information. I explain the concepts with real-life examples. I don’t stick with boring text-based quizzes that fail to improve students' cognitive skills. Instead, I design quizzes and lesson plans that strengthen students’ critical thinking. I use PowerPoint slides, visualizations, and digital boards to explain the concepts of this subject.
I cannot say enough good things about Frank! She not only makes the biology concepts easy to comprehend but also manages to make the lessons more fun! Thanks, Frank!
Great tutor! He understood my weaknesses clearly and, in return, offered me amazing sessions with the help of which I was able to pass my O’level exams with excellent scores.
PhD in Algebra
I’m Stella Collins, and I've sharpened my skills in mathematics, always striving to be results-oriented. My doctorate degree makes me able to teach at the university level. Throughout my tutoring years, my students have consistently achieved their academic goals. This wealth of experience not only allows me to understand the different needs of my students, but also guide them towards success.
I believe in continuous improvement, emphasizing the importance of every student's active participation. I simply don’t believe in one-sided teaching. I encourage students to share their insights and questions, ensuring a deeper understanding of mathematical concepts. This collaborative approach has proven effective.
Stella has an infectious positive attitude, which urges me to keep trying. It’s truly inspiring to see her with a cheerful smile and an optimistic mindset even with my weaknesses in math.
Stella is not only productive in sessions, but her feedback on homework is constructive as well. Her suggestions are always clear and useful. Whenever she assigns or communicates something, I know it will be productive.
Stella keeps frequent communication with my parents about progress, which makes everyone involved. Truly appreciate it.
Master's in Political Science
Throughout the last 15 years, I have dedicated myself to teaching political science to students, helping them understand theories and ideas in the field. I have always strived to make my teaching methods clear and engaging throughout my journey. I have always used real-life examples to show students how political theories can be applied practically. This helps them make connections between what they learn in the classroom and the real world. In my classrooms, I prioritise critical thinking and encourage open discussions. This creates an environment that promotes active learning and intellectual curiosity.
Enroll in my classes for a satisfying journey into the world of politics. I prioritize the development of critical thinking and problem-solving skills to equip you for real-world politics. I believe in using a teaching style that combines structure and flexibility to meet the needs of students with different learning speeds and preferences. I aim to make politics engaging and applicable to all students.
Matilda's classes feel like a discussion and chat with friends. She always has something different to say on a subject. I really appreciate her.
Matilda's teaching is solid. Her classes are like a journey into politics. She's demanding, but it's worth it. You'll come out with a deeper understanding.
Matilda sometimes overwhelms you with information. She talks about stuff in a very difficult manner. And I find it really hard to digest.
BE in Language
I would introduce myself as an English language trainer. I’m specialized in tutoring TESOL and IELTS-level language learners around the globe. In the past 15 years of my tutoring career, I’ve tutored many students who belong to different countries. Now, I’ve enough experience to tutor students of different nationalities.
I like using Computer Assisted Language Learning (CALL) tutoring approach, grammar translation methods, and audio-lingual and activity-based learning approaches in my online classes. My students are allowed to play language games and perform fun tasks during the sessions.
Wahyu is a great tutor, adept at explaining concepts in the best possible ways. She made grammar so easy to understand and further guided me throughout the process of mastering the English language. Thanks, Wahyu!
After a month of IELTS sessions, I was able to write basic essays and speak basic English. Now, I'm wondering how much I’ll progress after the complete course! Wahyu is incredible!
Having her as a tutor is amazing. She motivated me and trained me to use all the four English skills with perfection!
MA in English Literature with a focus on Middle Eastern Influences, Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
I started teaching in Cairo, where I was fascinated by the interesting connections between Middle Eastern storytelling and English literature. This made me wanted to learn more about the connections between the two worlds. During my time as a teacher, I have had the opportunity to teach in both Egypt and the UK. This has allowed me to bring a special combination of cultural knowledge to the study of classic subjects. I have spent a lot of time learning about and sharing stories from the Middle East. I have done this through seminars, reading groups, and interactive sessions. My goal has been to show people the similarities and differences in literature from this region that they may not know about.
I think reading stories and poems should also make us want to make our own art. After reading, I ask students to try and make something new from it. They could write a new part of the story, make a drawing, or try writing a poem like the one we read. When they make something, it shows they really understood the story. Plus, it's fun to see how they imagine and dream up their own ideas.
For students wishing to enhance their reading and writing abilities, Nadia is a highly certified literature and writing coach. She has been teaching writing and reading comprehension to my sixth-grade daughter for the last two months. Nadia is smart, understanding, and a pleasure to deal with. She provided me with a lesson summary at the end of each session so I could see what my daughter had learnt. I'm so happy I came to Nadia on MTS, and I heartily suggest her!
The cultural intersections are insightful. I'd just like to sometimes spend more time on individual authors.
I would give this class a rating of 3 stars. Although the classes provide a new and different viewpoint, I personally would appreciate a bit more emphasis on traditional curriculum texts.

M.S. in Information Systems
I started working in ICT more than 20 years ago, mainly managing databases for big companies. I have worked in different positions, starting as a system analyst and then becoming an IT project manager. I started working in education 15 years ago because I wanted to help others. Since then, I have been helping students understand and use ICT, especially when it comes to managing and using data effectively.
When learning about ICT, it's important to understand both the small details and the overall concepts. I focus on the Code-to-Cloud Continuum. We will begin by learning the basics of programming languages and the best practices for coding. As we continue, we will learn about systems integration, including important topics such as database management and cybersecurity. Finally, we will learn about the cloud and how all these elements work together in today's connected, cloud-based world. By learning each step of this process, you will develop a complete and thorough understanding of ICT. This will help you prepare for various challenges in the digital world.
I thoroughly enjoyed the project evaluations and case study discussions. Would have loved a bit more on emerging data technologies. Her classes gave me clarity on how businesses leverage technology in the real world
Sofia's approach is unique. Instead of just ICT concepts, we got to see their application in today's businesses. It's been invaluable for my studies.
BS (Hons) English Language and Linguistics
I started my career as an online English-speaking trainer. I used to train students on Skype and taught them how to use English in their daily lives. Further, I also conducted special sessions for ESL learners who wanted to pass interviews. I’m here to help you learn English to pass a specific exam or to become a pro-English speaker in practical life. I can tutor all levels of students, either native or non-native, all over the world.
I use student-centered tutoring approaches in the sessions. I allow my students to work through different tasks during the sessions. I use simple language to explain the concepts to the students.
Very very talented tutor who has got some real skills in tutoring English. He helped me with my speaking, writing, reading, and listening skills. I highly recommend him to students to want to achieve pro-native-like English skills.
Alex was very thorough in explaining the concepts. He is very knowledgeable too. I had a great time with him.
He is a very friendly tutor who does an amazing job in helping the students overcome their fear of using English. He is a great tutor!
IB Diploma
I’m Sonia, a highly experienced tutor with over 15 years of teaching experience. I’ve tutored almost every TOK-related subject to numerous students in one-on-one sessions. My list of past students has around 1500 students. I’ve received awards for conducting IB sessions with advanced tutoring methodologies. My goal is to fill the online tutoring world with advanced and personalized tutoring methodologies.
I like to make sessions interactive and engaging via activities. I explain the concepts on my own and if possible also draft personalized notes for each tutee. My tutees’ attendance must be 90% and they must attempt all the quizzes/assessments. I am fully against using the drilling tutoring methods, instead, I like to use constructivist tutoring approaches in my sessions.
Sonia is a great tutor! She helped me understand the WoK-related IB TOK subjects. Her sessions were very helpful and always engaging.
She explained everything very efficiently. I liked learning TOK concepts with her. Highly recommended tutor!
One of the best tutors around the globe! She made learning super fun and never got late. I would highly recommend her!
MSc in Applied Mathematics
I have been teaching for 15 years, so I have gained a lot of diverse experience. After getting my Master's degree, I have focused on helping students understand difficult math concepts. I have experience teaching students at different academic levels. For example, I have helped high school students with algebra and geometry, and I have also guided college students through differential equations. I have organized workshops and boot camps that focus on addressing common challenges that students face in the subject. I have worked with other teachers on research projects to improve how we teach difficult math concepts.
I have noticed that students often have difficulty understanding algebra, particularly when it involves working with variables and equations. I have developed a unique approach called "Mathematics in Motion" to address this. Instead of just teaching students how to solve algebra problems on paper, I use interactive tools and software to visually show how equations change when we manipulate them. When students can visually observe the behavior of variables and equations, they develop a better understanding. I think that when students can imagine the abstract concepts, it becomes clearer and easier for them to solve algebraic problems.
Manuel's 'Mathematics in Motion' truly made me understand algebra.
His teaching is very interactive and dynamic. I will recommend him for sure.
