I have a Master’s in Computer Applications along with a B.Ed, and my past 10 years as a math tutor. It was a very enriching experience in my life because I had to teach students using different methods based on their individual needs. It was truly amazing.
For some students, one approach may be easier to understand, while others may struggle. In such cases, I find that storytelling related to our concept can be quite effective.
MSc in Applied Mathematics
I started teaching at the University of Doha after finishing my master's degree. In the last ten years, I have taught math at different levels, including high school algebra and college-level calculus. I have experience helping students get ready for the math sections of the SAT and GRE exams. I have been a member of academic research teams and have helped write papers on mathematical models in biology. I have also offered private tutoring to students who are having difficulty with math. Aisha worked with my daughter as a teacher for a year to get her ready for the 11+ exams (South West London independent schools). She used to go to a public elementary school, so she needed help learning the material more deeply and getting the confidence and "technique" to solve the more difficult problems and puzzles that kids often see on tests. Her tests were very hard, but she did great on them. These included the "notoriously challenging" 3-part math paper at London's most selective girls' school. The offer letter even said that she got a perfect score on a math test at another school. Once she knew everything she needed to know, Aisha put most of her attention on the hardest papers and worksheets. I’m an Aerospace Engineer and an experienced math tutor with over 10 years of teaching experience.
