My experience as a tutor was great. Firstly, I like to be friendly with my student to make them feel comfortable so that they can clear there doubts easily and it will be easier for me to teach them more easily. Secondly, I start with basics whenever I teach a student, and ask them whether their doubts have been cleared or not. That helped my student a lot in understanding easily.
My tutoring approach was great. I had a student who did not knew the basics of chemistry subject. So i helped him understand the concepts first and made him learn in an easy way so that he can remember it easily. I explain him/her more than once so that they can remember and understand it. I can help them by making easy notes for them so as to learn quickly. I can forward them notes online by making the answers easier for them to learn easily.
