I got tutoring from Rama to pass my final exams. It was a very nice experience.
Rama is a very kind tutor. She explained all the concepts in interactive ways, and I loved all her sessions.
My son was pretty frustrated when he discovered he had to study geography to pass his 7th grade. He couldn’t focus on his studies and literally failed his first test. But hiring Rama proved to be beneficial for us. My son really liked being in her sessions!

PhD in French Linguistics from University of Lyon
Over the past two decades, I've had the joy of guiding students through the details of the French language at a university level. My research in French linguistics has enabled me to bring fresh, research-backed insights to my students. Over the years, I've worked with students from various backgrounds, from those with a casual interest in the language to those deeply committed to mastering it. The academic environment has allowed me to blend formal teaching with seminars, workshops, and interactive discussions. I've also organized student exchanges, enabling learners to immerse themselves in the authentic French environment.
I strive to make students feel the rhythm, emotion, and history behind every phrase and sentence. To ensure a comprehensive learning experience, I incorporate multimedia materials, literature, music, and even culinary elements into my curriculum. My objective is not just to make students fluent in French, but to also help them understand and appreciate the vibrant literature of the French-speaking world.
Ava’s classes have an engaging flair, but sometimes, it feels a bit overwhelming. Can we take a step back and focus on basics?
Her passion for the French culture is evident, but I enrolled mainly for the language aspect. I'm not getting enough of that.
Learning French was always daunting until Ava’s class. The way she blends storytelling with lessons is magical.
Master's in Mandarin Linguistics from Shanghai Jiao Tong University
I started learning Mandarin when I was young because my Chinese neighbour taught me. I became interested in Mandarin Linguistics and decided to study it further at Shanghai Jiao Tong University. During my 22 years of teaching, I have had the opportunity to work with a wide range of students. This includes international students as well as professionals who need to learn Mandarin for their jobs. I use a mix of formal language techniques and everyday expressions to make Mandarin more lively.
To really understand Mandarin, you need to comprehend the essence of the language. I focus on practical use of Mandarin, so that students can feel comfortable speaking it in any situation. I study and analyze complex characters and sentences. I use the IB curriculum to teach Mandarin. I also include things like podcasts, news broadcasts, and modern literature to help students understand Mandarin in different ways. This helps them understand both the history and current use of the language.

Master's in Religious Studies with a special focus on Eastern Religions
I have been teaching students about Eastern religions for more than 20 years. I became very interested in the ideas and ways of the East, which led me to become a teacher. I have talked with scholars, monks, and people who practice different Eastern religions. This has helped me learn more and I use what I've learned in my teaching. It's nice to see students every year start to like Eastern religious ideas. Some even go on their own spiritual journeys.
I believe that to truly understand religion, it's important to learn about its practices and philosophies, not just read about it. That's why, in my classes, students participate in meditation, watch documentaries about religious rituals, and have discussions about Eastern philosophical ideas. I tell them to ask questions, disagree with ideas, and share their own beliefs, so that we can have a lively and respectful learning environment. My main goal is for students to not only gain knowledge but also feel spiritually fulfilled..
I immediately felt comfortable with Rawan as a teacher. After I told her my goals, she helped me map up a study schedule. The way she introduces us to the Eastern world's philosophies is simply mesmerizing. It's more than just a class; it's an experience.

History is not just a record of things that happened in the past. It is about understanding how decisions, actions, and reactions come together to shape our world. I like to have discussions in my classes. Students learn about events through different types of media, such as documentaries, interviews, and digital archives. This makes learning more interesting and comprehensive. For those preparing for the International Baccalaureate (IB), we work in a systematic and organised manner. In addition to teaching the required material, we also give students practise exams to help them learn how to write clear and complete answers. We provide feedback regularly to help improve.
