Over the last 24 years, I have been dealing with thousands of students who attended my IELTS, TOEFL, Business English and OET classes, many of whom managed to pass their tests with flying colors. I hold 9 in IELTS, apart from having a CPE & Business Higher. I have also written three books on IELTS, entitled Beyond the Borders of IELTS. As a CELTA certified teacher, I have always tried to keep up with the latest teaching approaches.
In one word, my IELTS classes are based on hands-on IELTS practice, by which I mean I ask my students to get involved in authentic IELTS tasks, face the possible challenges and come up with solutions. In writing classes, for instance, they need to brainstorm the topics and think about the possible approaches they can have to tackle the task. That’s why every session, my students feel they have done some real IELTS practice having finished the class.
Master's in Religious Studies
For almost 25 years, I have been interested in learning about Eastern Religions. During this time, I have studied the teachings of Buddhism, Hinduism, Taoism, and other similar beliefs. I have been lucky to travel a lot, going to temples, monasteries, and shrines in Asia. This has helped me learn more and gather experiences to tell my students about. I have been happy to help many young people understand the complex ideas and practices of these old religions, showing them a glimpse of a world that is very different from ours.
I like to connect Eastern philosophies to our everyday lives when I teach. I compare old teachings to show how they can still be helpful in today's fast world. I believe in learning by doing, so I like to have discussions, group activities, and hands-on projects in my lessons. I use pictures, videos, and sometimes quiet thinking time to help my students truly feel and understand Eastern spirituality, instead of just memorizing information.
Besides being one of the most patient teachers I've ever had, his courses are also quite easy to learn. A few weeks ago, I struggled to read at all, but with his help, I've come a long way in that area. I highly suggest him to anyone interested in studying the religious studies.
The meditation sessions we had were a highlight. They gave us practical insight into Eastern spiritual practices.
PhD in English Literature, TEFL Certification
I started my teaching journey at a university level, focusing primarily on British literature. Over time, I branched out, teaching not just literature but also basic and advanced English courses at several community colleges. I've also been active in various English language workshops internationally, particularly in non-English speaking European countries. The past decade has seen me work extensively with business professionals, enhancing their English for global communication.
I emphasise practical application. If you are a student, we will go over a lot of material to help you understand books and write better essays. If you're a professional, our classes will focus on how to improve your emails, presentations, and other forms of business communication. In my opinion, there should be clear feedback and measurable results for learning goals in a practical, straightforward method.
As my English teacher, Bram was great to work with. He was clearly an expert in his field from the very first lesson. He quickly figured out what I was good and bad at and made sure the lessons fit my needs. Bram’s way of teaching is different, which made the lessons fun and interesting. He helped me improve my speech and writing skills and were able to explain difficult language ideas in a way that I could understand.
Effective teaching methods, but sometimes the sessions can be intense. A small break in between would be great.
MSc. MPhil
I have been teaching for 22 years in the Department of Mathematics, covering undergraduate and advanced college programs. I have taught advanced mathematics, which includes 1)Calculus I, II, III, 2)Linear Algebra, 3)Differential Equations,4)Numerical Analysis, 5)Real Analysis. I have also helped students prepare for A-Level, IB, GCSE, and SAT Mathematics.
My teaching approach focuses on involving students actively, adjusting lessons to their level, and integrating real-world applications. This helps to make mathematical concepts easier to understand and accessible to all learners.
Master's in Religious Studies with a special focus on Eastern Religions
I have been teaching students about Eastern religions for more than 20 years. I became very interested in the ideas and ways of the East, which led me to become a teacher. I have talked with scholars, monks, and people who practice different Eastern religions. This has helped me learn more and I use what I've learned in my teaching. It's nice to see students every year start to like Eastern religious ideas. Some even go on their own spiritual journeys.
I believe that to truly understand religion, it's important to learn about its practices and philosophies, not just read about it. That's why, in my classes, students participate in meditation, watch documentaries about religious rituals, and have discussions about Eastern philosophical ideas. I tell them to ask questions, disagree with ideas, and share their own beliefs, so that we can have a lively and respectful learning environment. My main goal is for students to not only gain knowledge but also feel spiritually fulfilled..

Her kind demeanour and genuine enthusiasm for teaching will have you dreading the end of class. Whether your goal is to master Arabic, memorise the Quran, or perfect your Tajweed, she is your go-to. I have a strong academic background that has given me a thorough understanding of the subject, allowing me to effectively share my knowledge. During my time as a teacher, I've been fortunate to see how students change as they learn German. I have always strived to ensure that the learning process is not only informative but also enjoyable. I think that language is more than just a collection of words. It allows us to explore and appreciate different cultures. I have a lot of experience that allows me to help students become better at language and understand different cultures.

Master of Science in Mathematics
I have been teaching for around 20 years at almost all levels. I started during college and have continued tutoring. Over this time, I've worked with students at different levels, including IGCSE, A-Level, SAT, and MCAT. As a tutor, my prime concern is building students’ thinking and problem-solving skills and helping them perform better in exams.
I know students find the math subject boring, so I try to keep my lessons simple and engaging by using examples and small activities during class. This helps students to understand concepts and formulas better. We go step by step and practice together until the concept becomes clear.

I’m very passionate about tutoring my subject. I've been tutoring this subject since I was completing my graduation, and now it's been 20 years. I'm helping worldwide chemistry students learn and understand intriguing concepts. Apart from Biochemistry, I can also teach Analytical Chemistry, Geo Chemistry, and other important fields of chemistry.
I strongly believe in using activity-based learning approaches in one-on-one sessions. I encourage my students to work during sessions and participate as much as possible. The activities I choose for my students not only help them memorize the course material but also boost their critical thinking skills.
